The number one European luxury skincare brand, Clarins, just opened its very first U.S. store! Clarins can be purchased in many high-end retailers, but now customers can shop at the brand new store and spa in the King of Prussia Mall.
I have been using Clarins products for years. The company is grounded in environmentally responsible sourcing, skincare for every concern, and utilizing nature’s finest ingredients to create the most effective products. Plus as a company they are kind, generous, knowledgeable, and take pride in developing results driven products.
Makeup, body care, skincare for all ages can now be found under one roof, with the added bonus of a customized experience.
On the night of the grand opening, I was so excited to see how Clarins would translate their brand into an entire boutique. Hoping that the philosophy and culture would shine and capture the essence of Clarins. They were able to achieve just that and much more.
The store itself is absolutely beautiful. Open and bright with an inviting floor plan. As you walk in the door to the right is a counter of mini skincare routines- a snap shot of the routines and treatments for those feeling overwhelmed or confused. On the other side is a counter featuring computer tablets for each customer to easily play with color on a Clarins app, allowing you to see which makeup is complementary to your skin tone.
Did I mention that there is a mini spa in the store? Yes, a mini spa, where you can schedule one of seven spa treatments, 30 minutes for $30. The perfect on the go refresher! Men and women can experience the power and benefits of the Clarins products instantly with any one of these fabulous treatments, focusing on dry or tired skin, eyes, or a gentle massage to soothe away tension and stress.
Every one of the Clarins expert associates are highly trained and incredibly helpful. They are dedicated to finding the right product for you, ensuring that every visit is a positive and fun experience!
Whether you are looking to find your very first skincare routine or interested in trying something new and effective, plan a visit to the Clarins store. Allow the associates to be your guide, you will not regret it!
Clarins is one of my favorite beauty brands. The products are packed with natural ingredients that create effective results and beautiful skin. The newest edition to the Clarins collection is the Multi-Active Day Cream for all skin tones. A little goes a long way with this rich and creamy product. Apply a small amount all over face an neck to clean skin. Then apply makeup as usual. This cream has a beautiful lightly floral scented fragrance. The luxurious texture glides on skin and the results are immediate. The face appearance hydrated, wrinkles are filled in and appear smooth, and the best part, it absorbs quickly into the skin.
The Clarins Multi-Active Day Cream includes three main ingredients that are responsible for the amazing results. Organic Teasel, Myrothamnus, and Organic California Poppy help revitalize, minimize fine lines, and tone the skin.
Free shipping on the Clarins website until this Friday. Make sure to add this anti-aging cream to your skincare routine! Also available in an SPF version for extra protection.
I have assembled some of my favorite lipsticks for summer. These pink, peach, coral, and berry shades are perfect with sun kissed skin and vibrant clothing shades.
3 in 1 stick by Mineral Fusion in both Terra Cotta and Berry Glow. This product is multi- purpose and creates a beautiful sheen of color- soft and long lasting.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil is a non drying lipstick that is smooth and creamy. I love two particular shades in this collection, a classic blue base red called Dragon Girl and a red orange called Red Square.
Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Runaway Color is incredibly rich in texture and luxurious. The color is a vibrant peachy coral and incredibly long lasting.
Clarins Multi-Blush in Grenadine can be used as blush or lipstick. It is a powdery soft finish with a bright rose color.
Nyx cosmetics has a wonderful selection of Matte Lipstick that is still very silky and hydrating. Street Cred is a beautiful raspberry coral.
I am embarrassed to say that it was only recently that I discovered Joe Fresh. Ever since learning about this company, I have been periodically checking their website, looking at all of the new arrivals for spring and making a list of the items I need to purchase. The clothes are reasonable (complimentary shipping with any $50 purchase), of excellent quality, and a fabulous selection. I needed an outfit to wear to the Philadelphia Flower Show, something spring-like, but still warm and found just the right look.
This past weekend I attended the annual Philadelphia Flower Show (my coverage will be live tomorrow) and what better place to wear spring makeup? Surrounded by all the gorgeous flowers and plants I decided to try the new Garden Escape palette by Clarins. This six eyeshadow palette contains colors ranging from rose to olive green. The shadows can be worn as is or can be combined with a little water to create a deeper shade for an eyeliner effect. On my cheeks I wore Blush Prodige #8 Sweet Rose– light pink. The new Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil in Raspberry is a fabulous product, both hydrating and the perfect lip gloss for spring. It offers just the right amount of shine while the jojoba oil richly soaks into the lips. Immediately, after applying the oil, lips appear fuller from the hazelnut oil ingredient. These quintessential spring colors are the perfect way to kick off the new season.
As of today, I really do not have any New Year’s Eve plans. I think I just want to be a couch potato and eat and watch the ball drop from the comfort of my own home, warm and happy. I might even for good measure play the Auld Lang Syne version by Mairi Campbell and Dave Francis from Sex and the City the movie. Maybe I will warm a cup of apple cider, wear a boa, who knows? Anyway, I have gone out each year on New Year’s unsuccessfully it usually is a frigid cold night, with crazy drunk people, drama, and overall a lot of work to achieve the look for the evening. With all of that said, if you are planing a night out on the town, here is an Audrey Hepburn, 60’s inspired makeup look. It really is very simple to achieve, but it does require the proper tools. Santa bought me the 10 piece limited edition Sonia Kashuk brush kit, which I desperately needed.
To achieve this look I used NARS black Eyeliner Pencil for both the lower and upper lash lines as well as the sockets. The liner should be drawn out slightly to create a wide eye. Make sure you do not draw a winged lash line, keep the line parallel to the lower lashes. The bottom line should appear as if it is smudged and can be applied thickly. Do not be afraid to make a definitive line on the socket. With the eyeshadow brush blend completely to smooth the harshness of the line.
Using the Luminous White from Clarins vibrant light eye quartet mineral palette (which I have mentioned before) apply carefully on the eye lid. Avoid covering the liner.
Mascara should be applied at least twice, two coats will really make your eyes pop. I used Maybelline Volum’ Express Colossal Mascara in classic black.
Cheeks need some contour with this look. Apply Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in pink mosaic.
Keep lips simple, preferable nude or pale pink. Hourglass offers a gorgeous collection of nude shades. Try the Femme Nude Lip Stylo for the perfect 60’s lip.
It certainly feels like December now. Time to layer and bundle. On a recent shopping trip to Walnut Street in Philadelphia, I walked into Zara. Very shorty afterwards my hands, arms, and my mother’s arms were filled with their fabulous knitwear. I entered the fitting room with sweaters galore. During this season, I love feeling cozy and warm and a beautiful sweater is the best way to achieve comfort and style. Today, I am wearing my favorite pair of Ann Taylor pants, a navy and white jacquard sweater from Zara, and a pair of extra toasty Ugg boots. The sweater alone feels as warm as wrapping up in a blanket, which is just my speed.
As for makeup, I opted for a sparkly winter look. This would be ideal for a holiday party worn with either a more casual outfit or with a very fancy dress. Basically, the lipstick and blush are the most exaggerated of the look, keeping eyes very simple. I applied the Tender Pink from Clarins Vibrant Eye Quartet Mineral Palette and then the Luminous White just as a highlighter on the eyebrows.
Red Amour mini Creme Smooth Lip Colour from the Laura Mercier Ruby Spark collection.
I tried a brand new product from the Laura Mercier Chameleon Collection, Shimmer Bloc in Pink Mosaic. The effect is gorgeous. It brightens the whole face with a subtle luster, perfectly blended together to highlight the face and add a warm glow.
I still find that I avoid wearing liquid foundation whenever possible. Of course, I want to achieve a flawless, airbrushed look, but not totally sold on covering my face. This is the reason why I love powder foundation on top of my daily moisturizer. However, finding the right product, the effective product with a lightweight consistency and silky texture is another story. Makeup should feel as if you are stepping out with a bare face even if the opposite is true.
Clarins has added this fabulous product to their collection, Radiance Boosting Complexion Bases in Champagne and Rose. The rose shade lightens your skin with the slightest pink pigment, while the champagne eliminates any redness adding a little golden hue. Both evenly blend into the skin, leaving your face feeling soft and moisturized and looking luminous and dewy. All makeup layered on this base creates a smooth, natural looking finish.
As promised, I am debuting two of the Clarins products that I received at the Summer Beauty Event at Macy’s. I am wearing the Vibrant Light Eye Quarter Mineral Palette, which contains a grey, violet, pink, and metallic white. These shadows can be used wet as a liner or dry for a softer look. I applied the pink all over my lid and brow, then the violet to my crease and socket, and finally I highlighted my eyes with the glittery white shade to my lid and inner corner.
Today, I was wearing a very bright maxi dress from Young Fabulous and Broke so I paired the look with a subtle lip. The Multi-Blush Cream Blush can be worn as a blush and lip color. I am wearing Grenadine on my lips on top of a thin layer of Shiseido Benefiance Full Correction Lip Treatment. This product is incredibly lightweight and silky, giving the appearance of naturally pigmented lips.
I have to admit, to my own detriment, I believed that Clarins was a skincare line alone. Effective, anti-aging, sun care, not necessarily color. Last night I attended a beauty demonstration by Clarins Skin Care Specialist, Jean Fayard, held at the Center City Macy’s.
Jean introduced me to the wonderful world of Clarins. In addition to the standbys, but no less amazing, the incredible Double Serum and Multi-Active Day cream, she showcased the new spring color products. Gorgeous and cheerful corals, pinks, and reds. Creamy blushes that double as lip shades, Light Radiance Boosting Complexion bases in Champagne and Rose. The Golden Glow Booster, a product that I am anxious to try, is a natural self-tanner that is combined with your moisturizer. Just 3 drops give skin a radiant, sun kissed glow!
I must mention the fragrance of these products. Each one smells better that the next from the botanical and other natural ingredients. I will be trying each one of these products and reporting back to you. Stay tuned, I truly cannot wait!
