Who says antique isn’t chic?

Ah, it is finally here! It was backordered for a couple of weeks, which seemed to drag forever. Very inspired this year by all things Stella McCartney, I was on a witch-hunt for a more reasonable version of the black and white tuxedo jacket from her fall 2011 collection.

Stripes, stripes, stripes

Ok so I have a confession to make…I love stripes. Every time I wear a striped shirt I instantly feel as though I should have been dancing with Elvis Presley in Jailhouse Rock! Anyway there is a way to make stripes age appropriate.

Get lacquered

I found it! In search for a happy medium lip product, half lipstick half lip-gloss. Ok so maybe not evenly split, but close enough. Fortunately, I finished my Christmas shopping in September, but I cannot resist the mall during this season; the hustle and bustle, decorations, and crowded stores. I am obsessed with trying new nail polish. I usually wear traditional colors with a twist. My personal pet peeve is the chipping effect that tends to occur with poor quality lacquers. So I am quite willing to invest a little more for a good quality, long lasting, and highly pigmented polish. This is why I purchased a gorgeous red from butter London.

Bat those eyes

It is no secret that I love long lashes. I try to make sure that my eyes really pop even on days when they are competing with red lipstick. However, I am not a huge fan of false eyelashes. I’m not really sure why as I know that the adhesive is not permanent, but it throws me for a loop none-the-less.

Fall faves

I was feeling adventurous so I decided to do a little combo…leather, silk scarf, faux fur, and snakeskin. I think this is a good example of wearing a variety of trends without looking mismatched or unfocused. There is a way of combining a variety of looks that work together nicely. The weather is crisp and sunny, perfect for layers.
